Organic Acids from Glucose—Heterogeneous Catalysis with the Participation of Natural Zeolite

In this paper, we present the results of a one-pot process for converting, utilizing modified clinoptilolite catalyst. Iron, cobalt, and copper were introduced into zeolite structure as active centers. The catalyst was characterized in terms phase composition, structure, microstructure (using XRD, BET, FT-IR, DRS UV-VIS), well speciation metals. catalytic conducted at temperature 250 °C 1–5 h. Depending on used specific conditions, reaction mixture exhibited formation various organic acids, including lactic acid (100% yield after 1 h using CLI), levulinic (40.3% 5 Fe-H-CLI), formic (15.8% 3 acrylic (11.9% Fe-CLI).
